Lançada em julho de 1970, a RevistaOCarreteiro nasceu como parte de uma família de revistas técnicasdaEditora Abril, cujo objetivo era levar informações paraosmotoristas de caminhão.Era um período de comunicação difícil, com o País governadopelosmilitares, e os carreteiros não contavam, na época, comumapublicação específica para a categoria.No período, os motoristas não estavam organizados emassociaçõesou entidades ativas para atender suas reivindicações,mesmo assimeram vistos como heróis das estradas.
